Lion Air to add new routes to Saudi

Indonesian low-cost carrier Lion Air is to open nine new connections between the south east Asian nation and Saudi Arabia.

The airline says that it will begin flights in October from Jeddah to Balikpapan, Banda Aceh, Bandar Lampung, Bandung, and Palembang while Medinah will be served from Medan, Padang and Pekanbaru

Lion said it intends to use Airbus A330-300s and Boeing 737 Max 8 on those services, but has not yet confirmed the schedules or the whether the operation will be charter.
