South African Airways flight has been grounded in Zimbabwe.
South African Airways (SAA) flight has been grounded in Zimbabwe and no reasons have been given.
SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali says Flight SA025 was due to leave Harare to Johannesburg on Saturday morning, but Zimbabwean authorities would not allow it to depart.
"At this stage we are waiting the decision by the authorities in Zimbabwe to allow us to operate. The aircraft was due to operate as a Flight SA025 from Harare and to depart at approximately 7:25 this morning to land in Johannesburg. The matter is receiving attention. We will be able to provide an update to the media and all the interested parties as soon as we have an update in this matter."
An Air Zimbabwe flight from Johannesburg OR Tambo airport to Harare on Friday night was reportedly cancelled, also without any reason being given.
This comes as Zimbabwe applies for diplomatic immunity for its First Lady, Grace Mugabe. A 20-year-old South African model, Gabriella Engles, has accused Grace Mugabe of assaulting her with an electrical extension cord in Sandton hotel last weekend.
Her husband, President Robert Mugabe, has appeared at the opening of the SADC Heads of State summit in Pretoria, but there is been no sign of Grace.
