Emirates SkyCargo launches new weekly freighter service

Emirates SkyCargo , the air freight division of gulf-based aviation major, has expanded its freighter services in India with a cargo flight to the national capital from this month. It already operates freighter services twice a week from Shanghai to Mumbai and onwards to Dubai and 18 dedicated cargo flights from Hong Kong to Dubai. Emirates SkyCargo is strengthening its footprint in the Far East and Indian subcontinent with the launch of a new weekly freighter service from Honk Kong to Dubai via NEW DELHI from June 1, a statement said today. The new service will facilitate growing trade between the Far East Asia and India and will help in tapping the higher cargo movements between Hong Kong, the world's cargo hub and Delhi, which is India's busiest cargo hub, it said. Emirates SkyCargo new freighter route is being serviced with a Boeing 777-F, providing 100 tonne of cargo capacity with one of the widest main deck cargo doors to facilitate the uplifting of large cargo consignments, the airline said. Some of the key exports carried by cargo arm of Emirates between Hong Kong and India include pharmaceutical raw materials, electronics and machinery. Courtesy: The Economic Times
