New Aviation policy to be ready early 2016

The Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju today said that the new aviation policy will be announced early next year. The proposed policy has received more than three lakh suggestions and a number of them have been considered while fine tuning the draft, he said. Speaking after the launch of e-boarding facility at GMR Hyderabad airport, the Minister said that the policy would be put up for approval by the Union Cabinet before making it public. He said that the e-boarding facility launched at Hyderabad, will be gradually be implemented in other airports in a phased manner aimed at adding to passenger convenience. "On a pilot project, Hyderabad and Bengaluru airports have taken up the implementation of the e-boarding facility, and we expect this to be adapted in other airports," he said.
